Teacher Training Registration

It is the students responsibility to read and understand all of the policies and requirements for completion contained in this document and within the individual website description page for each course you are registering for. Fusion Pilates Asheville can not be held responsible for misunderstandings of any polices or requirements of completion. Please be sure you meet prerequisites for classes you register for and that you understand what is required to complete the course work. If you are unsure- please contact us.

Certain aspects of these courses are physically demanding, and require that students be in good physical condition in order to benefit fully from the instruction. Therefore, we request that the following be observed:

Specific prerequisites for each module or training course in the form of group classes, private instruction or equipment classes, must be met prior to participating in the program. We recommend, but do not require that a minimum of 4 private sessions be taken at Fusion Pilates Asheville and recommend that at least 2 of these be taken prior to the first day of class. Registered Students will be offered a discounted price of $50.00 per Private Session, $17.00 per Equipment Class and $8.00 per Mat Class at Fusion Pilates Asheville. Students must be registered to receive these rates. This discounted rate remains in effect until 3 months after the final weekend and these sessions must be scheduled in advance through the studio. Discounted student rates are ONLY good for classes or sessions needed to meet requirements of courses taken at Fusion Pilates Asheville You must call the studio to schedule.

If your goals are not listed here, please do not sign up for these courses.

1. Develop an understanding of the fundamentals and principles of the Pilates or Gyrotonic^® method.
2. Learn the tools to instruct a mat class, equipment class and private sessions, depending on which course you are taking.
3. Safely prepare equipment and instruct clients of varying levels of fitness in a Pilates workout on the Mat, Reformer, Trapeze Table, Wunda Chair, High Barrel and Low Barrel for Pilates or using the Gyrotonic^® Tower and other Gyrotonic^® equipment for Gyrotonic^®.
4. Perform a postural assessment and make appropriate exercise selections to enhance a client's fitness experience.
5. Identify the relationships between various musculoskeletal structures of the body.
6. Learn the purpose, muscular focus, specific body alignment, and sequencing of each exercise including modifications and variations.
7. In depth instruction in teaching at all levels and for all body types.

We do not guarantee positions at our studio or provide job placement. We provide training only. If you are taking these courses with expectations of employment at Fusion Pilates Studio - please be advised that this is not the goal of these training courses.

Students who are Registered for any Balanced Body, Gyrotonic^® or Fusion Pre & Post Natal Course (discounts not available for those registered for Anatomy or Special Workshops) will be offered a discounted price of $50.00 per Private Session, $17.00 per Equipment Class and $8.00 per Mat Class at Fusion Pilates Asheville. Developing and committing to a personal Pilates practice is an essential part of becoming an effective and inspiring Pilates instructor. If hours are required for the class you are registering for, they can be done at Fusion Pilates Asheville, or at an approved facility if coming to Fusion Pilates Asheville is not possible. Students can count any mat or equipment classes or Pilates personal training sessions they have already taken in the last three months toward required prerequisites.

Developing and committing to a personal Gyrotonic^® practice is an essential part of becoming an effective and inspiring Gyrotonic^® instructor. If hours are required for the class you are registering for, they can be done at Fusion Pilates Asheville, or at an approved facility if coming to Fusion Pilates Asheville is not possible. Students can count any Gyrokenisis^® or Gyrotonic^® equipment classes or Gyrotonic^® personal training sessions they have already taken in the last three months toward required prerequisites.

Observation hours include watching experienced instructors teach group or private sessions. Observation is a great way to understand verbal and manual cueing, program sequencing and to hone your teaching skills. Your observation hours may be done at Fusion Pilates Asheville, or at an approved facility. You must inform us and schedule if you plan to observe at Fusion Pilates Asheville. There is a maximum of two students to observe at a time. See specific course descriptions for observation hour requirements.

Observation hours include watching experienced instructors teach group or private sessions. Observation is a great way to understand verbal and manual cueing, program sequencing and to hone your teaching skills. Your observation hours may be done at Fusion Pilates Asheville, or at an approved facility. You must inform us and schedule if you plan to observe at Fusion Pilates Asheville. Fusion Pilates Asheville is open for your teaching use but sessions need to be scheduled in advance and there is a fee of $10 per 55 minute session to work alone. During prime business hours session times may not always be available.

We strongly encourage you to work with your classmates. This is a safe way for you to practice your cueing and skills. If this is not possible, you may bring family and friends to the studio. In order to practice at Fusion Pilates Asheville you must have anyone you work with fill out a waiver and you must provide proof of liability insurance by issuing a certificate of insurance naming Fusion Pilates Asheville as additionally insured. There also is a $15.00 per 55 minute rental fee for studio time when you bring someone to work on. These fees are in effect for three months after the last day of the course, after three months the rental price goes up to $22.00 per 55 minute. The liability insurance can be obtained through the PMA (pilatesmethodalliance.org), Fitness and Wellness, Inc. (fitnessandwellness.com), or another insurance provider. Fusion Pilates Asheville must be listed as additional insured. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Prices listed for BBU courses include the course fee and manual only. The cost of personal sessions and any and all costs associated with completing observation and student teaching hours and practical tests are not included in the cost of the training program and are the responsibility of the student. Practical tests cost between $150 & $200.

Prices listed for Fusion courses include the course fee and manual only. The cost of personal sessions and any and all costs associated with completing any observation and student teaching hours and practical tests (if required) are not included in the cost of the training program and are the responsibility of the student. 2 DVD's are also included with the Fusion Pilates for Pre & Post Natal course.

Prices listed for Gyrotonic^® courses include the course fee and manual only. The cost of personal sessions and any and all costs associated with completing your final certification (hours with master trainer and final test out) observation hours, student teaching hours and practical tests are not included in the fees for these training program and are the responsibility of the student. Once you complete the Gyrotonic^® Pre-Training, you must take the Gyrotoic^® Foundation course within three months time.

Once you complete the twelve day, sixty hour Foundation Course, you are a Licensed Gyrotonic^® Trainer entering your Apprentice Period on your way to becoming fully Certified. At this stage, you begin teaching clients. As an Apprentice, you will log hours on the Apprentice Log Sheet that you will receive during your Foundation Course. You log both the hours that you accumulate by giving lessons to private clients, called Client Hours. You may rent studio/equipment time at Fusion Pilates Asheville for $10.00 per 55 minute session for the first three months after the last day of the Foundation Course- and for $22.00 after that. Anyone who is brought into the studio must fill = out a waiver and you must provide proof of liability insurance by issuing a certificate of insurance naming Fusion Pilates Asheville as additionally insured and you pay a $10.00 per 55 minute session rental fee. This $10 fee is in effect for three months after the last day of the course, after three months the rental price goes up to $22.00 per 55 minute session. The insurance can be obtained through the PMA (pilatesmethodalliance.org), Fitness and Wellness, Inc. (fitnessandwellness.com), or another insurance provider. Fusion Pilates Asheville must be listed as additional insured. There are no exceptions to this policy. You will also log hours spent with your Master Trainer during the Apprentice Period, these hours are called Supervised Apprentice Hours. Fusion Pilates Asheville will arrange to bring a Master Trainer to Asheville where you will have the opportunity to fulfill the thirty hour Master Trainer Apprentice hours if there is enough interest and participation. If no Master Instructor is brought to Asheville for these hours, it is the students responsibility to make arrangements to fulfill this requirement.

Once six months have elapsed since the last day of the Foundation Course and you have completed the necessary Client Hours and Master Trainer Supervised Hours- you can then enroll in the three day Gyrotonic^® Level One Certification Course. Currently, this course is only offered in Miami. Once you complete the Level One Certification Course, you will then be a Certified Gyrotonic^® Trainer and can advertise yourself as such.

All fees paid minus a $200 administration fee will be refunded for any cancellations made 30 days prior to first date of this course. There will be absolutely no refund of any kind for any cancellations made within 30 days prior to the first date of the course. Cancellations made 30 days or less prior to the first day of the course will not receive a refund of any kind, but can transfer once to the next available course. Otherwise, the full fees will be forfeited. No refund will be issued after the commencement of the course for any reason. No exceptions.

Each class must have the minimum number students register and pay to be held (see the minimum required in the description of the class). If the minimum is not met, the class will be canceled with 30 days notice. If a class is canceled, all students will be refunded in full. Please keep this in mind when making travel arrangements.

Course payment is due in full to register and reserve your space.

Cancellations made 45 days or less prior to the first day of the course will not receive a refund of any kind, but can transfer once to the next available course. If full payment is not made before 45 days prior to the course, then registration will be canceled and the full deposit will be forfeited. Cancellations made 45 days or less prior to the first day of the course will not receive a refund of any kind, but can transfer once to the next available course. Otherwise, the full fees will be forfeited. No refund will be issued once payment has been made for any reason. No exceptions. Contact the studio directly to discuss deposits.

Out of respect for those who are traveling from out of town to attend, Courses and Workshops will be held as scheduled unless it is physically impossible for the instructor to get to the studio. If bad weather is expected, please give yourself plenty of time to travel safely and to arrive on time. Obviously, if you cannot travel safely - stay put! There are no refunds but you may attend any other course of the same type by the same instructor that is on the schedule.

If the weather is so bad that we are forced to cancel - we will give as much advance notice as possible. If you would like an update, feel free to call or email us at any time.

In the event that you are unable to attend because of weather or if a Course or Workshop must be canceled, you may transfer to the next scheduled course of the same type with the same instructor.
