Descriptions

Private Pilates Session

This is a fifty-five minute one on one intensive session with one of our highly trained instructors. This in depth class uses various Pilates equipment including the Cadillac, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel (and others) to restore the body to its natural alignment while adding strength and length to the muscles.

Private Gyrotonic® Session

This fifty-five minute one on one session involves gentle movements of the spine to warm up your body and to prepare it to stretch and strengthen in a series of guided exercises. Although the exercise series focus on different parts of your body, Gyrotonic® involves the whole body. The instructor acts as a guide to help you expand your range of motion and to strengthen your muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems. Gyrotonic® truly is a unique mind-body experience and it can create a feeling of deep inner well-being and awareness on physical as well as spiritual levels.

Semi-Private Pilates Session

This is a shared (2 person) fifty-five minute intensive session with one of our highly trained instructors. This in depth class uses various Pilates equipment including the Cadillac, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel (and others) to restore the body to its natural alignment while adding strength and length to the muscles. We recommend taking 3 privates before attempting a semi-private.

Semi-Private Gyrotonic® Session

This is a shared (2 person) fifty-five minute intensive session with one of our highly trained instructors. This in depth class uses various Pilates equipment including the Cadillac, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel (and others) to restore the body to its natural alignment while adding strength and length to the muscles. We recommend taking 3 privates before attempting a semi-private.

Reformer Class

The Group Reformer class is a full fifty-five minute body workout that uses traditional Pilates reformer routines emphasizing form and proper body alignment. Using springs as resistance, Reformer classes increase core muscle strength, endurance and increased flexibility and range of motion in the joints. Maximum of 4 per class - this small class size allows each student to get plenty of individual attention.

Community Reformer Class

This is a Community Reformer class at a special reduced rate. Reformer class for all levels. The Group Reformer class is a full fifty five minute body workout that uses traditional Pilates reformer routines emphasizing form and proper body alignment. Using springs as resistance, Reformer classes increase core muscle strength, endurance and increased flexibility and range of motion in the joints. Maximum of 4 per class - this small class size allows each student to get plenty of individual attention.

Gyrotonic® Tower Class

This system is based on the principles of Gyrokinesis®, it is served by a series of specially designed exercise equipment, Pulley Tower, Ladder, GYROTONER®, Leg Extension Unit and Jumping Stretching Board, which are built around the human body with all regards to total freedom in movement, no restriction to speed and versatility and enhances rather than distracts from coordination, strength and flexibility.

SPECIAL CLASS! Pilates Equipment Circuit Class

You won't find a class like this anywhere else in Asheville!
The first eight weeks of our new Pilates Equipment Circuit Class will include beginning sequences in all five stations. Participants will learn how to set up and take themselves through the exercises, becoming more adept and self-sufficient while exercising. The Instructor will monitor the class providing modifications, variations and tips to each client as needed in order to insure the best form and an efficient / effective workout suiting each individual.
How the Class Works: This class is for students who feel ready to take matters into their own hands. Each student receives a set of exercise cards and will begin class at one of five stations: Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair or Barrel. Approximately 10 minutes will be spent at each station at which time the student will move on to the next. The first few classes will be monitored by two instructors who will adjust and give advice and then one instructor will take over.
Policies: This class works differently from our other classes. This is an eight week class. You pay one flat price for the eight weeks - there are no cancellations refunds or makeups. This is so that the members of the class can progress at the same pace.

Pre & Post Natal Mat Class

The Fusion Pilates for Pre & Post Natal is a unique system that combines the principals of Pilates and yoga to serve the expectant mother's body and mind. This class will help to relieve lower back strain, fatigue and constipation. It also helps to prevent varicose veins, incontinence and leg swelling. The system maintains your strength and flexibility, builds stamina for the birthing process, increases blood circulation and oxygen to your baby and is gentle enough to continue right up to your due date. Post-Partum women will recover abdominal strength and toning while relieving upper body tension from carrying the baby to quickly regain strength and energy. Feel free to bring your baby to class as long as they're not walking or too mobile!"

Pilates/Yoga Calorie Burn Mat Class

This high energy class takes the best of Pilates and Yoga and turns up the volume to get the heart pumping, the blood moving and the calories burning. This class combines traditional floor exercises with strength/resistance training utilizing various props including magic circles, body bars and/or resistance bands. The class focuses on establishing muscular balance, building core strength and increasing flexibility and range of motion in the joints. With a maximum of eight students per class, each student receives plenty of individual attention.

Gyrokinesis® Mat Class

A unique three-dimensional workout that marries the elements of tai chi, yoga, swimming and gymnastics. The body is taken through seven natural elements of spinal movement. Gyrokinesis® gently works the joints, muscles and stimulates the internal organs through rhythmic and undulating exercises. Fluidity is the key.

Pilates Revolving Target Class

Pilates Revolving Target Class. This class will tackle all of the problem areas we all need work on. A specific area of the body including Abs, Glutes, Arms, Back and Legs will be concentrated on in each class. The area of concentration will change from week to week each month to keep things interesting and new.

Hot Flow Mat Class

A unique and very challenging workout. The room will be hot as we flow through yoga poses and pilates exercises with very little rest until we get to the end of class where we slow things down a bit and cool the room. Please bring a towel and a yoga mat if you have one. This is for intermediate /advanced clients with no injuries unless you know how to modify for your injuries.

Bone Builder Mat Class

Perfect for clients diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis (or those that have a family history and want to prevent it) as well as clients suffering from mild arthritis and clients that want to improve their posture and strengthen their core. Great for clients who want to know how to find and keep their spine and pelvis in a neutral position and how to move with ease and comfort. Every level is welcomed at the class. This is a beginner foundational class.

Level One

Just because a class is Level One for beginners, does not mean you won't get a workout! Level One classes help the beginner connect with all the foundational exercises and introduce the student to the use of the breath in moving in and out of each exercise. Then, once confidence and comfort have been gained, it's time to move on to more challenging levels.

Level Two

The majoritiy of students find it comfortable to move to a Level One/Two or Level Two after 10 Level One Classes. This is our Intermediate Level. It is meant for students who are practicing on a regular basis who want to build on their strength and flexibility and want to be constantly challenged.
Requirements: 10 Level One classes or Teacher recommendation

Level Three

This is our Advanced Level. It is meant for the seasoned student and includes very advanced exerciees and bio-mechanical theory.
Requirements: Teacher recommendation

All Levels
